Perfect for Canapes these bite sized hard boiled and ready to serve quail eggs are simply delicious. Great for brightening up a salad or simply dipped in celery salt and eaten as a healthy and nutritious light snack.
These ready to eat delights take the hassle out of what can be a rather laborious task of having to boil and then peel these delicate eggs. Available in Waitrose stores nationwide in handy pots of 12 eggs, find them in the chilled aisles.

Try out this cooked quail egg recipe for easy to prepare sophisticated canapes.
Quail Eggs and Smoked Salmon Blinis
Ingredient’s – 12 Hard Boiled Quail Eggs, 24 Blinis, 12 Slices Smoked Salmon, 200ml Crème Fraiche, 1 Lemon, Salt & Pepper and Chives.
1. Heat the blinis as instructed on packaging and leave to cool slightly.
2. Mix Crème Fraiche and ½ tbsp of lemon, juice together and season with Salt & Pepper.
3. Cut each slice of salmon into 3 and drape a piece on top of each blini, then spoon a tsp of the crème crème fraiche mixture on top of the salmon.
4. Top with halved quail egg, a squeeze of lemon juice and garnish with a piece of chive and cracked pepper. A dusting of smoked paprika also gives this a nice twist.
