EGG SAFETY

  • Look for the Clarence Court® Crown on the egg shell and egg box – it shows that the eggs have been produced to the highest standards of food safety, including a vaccination program against Salmonella Enteritidis.
  • Be reassured that you can only buy genuine Clarence Court® eggs from reputable retailers where they will have been transported and stored at the correct temperature (below 20°C).
  • Keep eggs in the fridge in their box after purchase.
  • Store eggs separately from other foods.
  • Make sure you use eggs by the ‘best before’ date shown on the egg or box – for Clarence Court® quality eggs, this guarantees that they are fresher than required by law.
  • Wash hands before and after handling eggs.
  • Occasionally despite our stringent quality assurance procedures we cannot guarantee that every egg will be free from dirt or cracks. Please discard any of these eggs if they are in your possession.
  • Eat cooked egg dishes as soon as possible after cooking or store in a fridge.
